PIAD specializes in the manufacturing of functional components using its proprietary chill casting process, which leverages a diverse range of copper-based and aluminum bronze & brass alloys. This approach allows PIAD to produce near net shape castings, offering cost-effective solutions that have resulted in over 3,000 successful conversions to date. The ideal candidates for PIAD’s casting conversions include functional components that require secondary operations post-initial manufacturing. These include:

- Multi-piece steel weldments
- Forgings needing additional machining
- Sand castings necessitating further machining
- Copper extrusions requiring additional machining
- Parts machined from solid bar stock
- Assemblies composed of multiple stampings
Notably, when converting from steel weldments or steel forgings, PIAD substitutes the material with its high-strength nickel-aluminum bronze alloys. These alloys are carefully selected to match or even surpass the tensile and yield strengths of medium-alloyed steel, offering enhanced performance characteristics.
